Counsel will want the charging document, your version of events, and any prior record. They cannot promise a dismissal from a 20-minute call. A good meeting ends with the next filing date and what documents to gather.
Conflicts and who the client is
If a relative is paying, the lawyer still owes duties to the accused. Ask who can receive updates. That question prevents later confusion more than a polished slogan does.
What to bring
Citations, bond papers, and a timeline written the same day help. Social media screenshots of the incident belong in the file, not in a public post.
